Hotel Traiano - Rome Hotel Coliseum

The Traiano Hotel is happy to mark that Coliseum, few minutes away from the hotel and recently included among the new seven wonders of the world, represents the most searched monument on Internet with more than 20 million of web contacts in 2008, according to a universal survey  promoted by the famous Canadian/Swiss film expert Bernard Weber.

Then we find Pisa Tower, Milan Cathedral, St Peter in Rome, Giotto bell tower in Florence, Ovo Castel in Naples and Paestum Temples. It emerges from a research promoted by the Wise Nathan, an international journalistic observatory, that will be presented at the World Travel Market in London, the most important international event concerning tourism.
Together with the research will be presented the tourist offer concerning Rome and Lazio Region: to realize a Time-Machine, a gyroscopic video guide able to reconstruct in a 3D version the archaeological area of Coliseum and Imperial Forum. For the realization of this video guide it was necessary that Coliseum was furnished with nine Wi-Fi points, becoming the first totally Wi-Fi monument in Italy.

The Traiano Hotel is happy to remind to art lovers that Rome Coliseum is giving hospitality to an exhibition of ruins and renascence of Italian art. The event is promoted  by the National Committee for centenary’s celebration  of the first organic guardianship regulations (1909-2009).

The event is divided into six sections. The first one, called The Origins of Guardianship, explains the change in the way of considering ancient, destructions, raids, wastes and incorrect use of public  domains. The second section, The unity of Italy and national education,  concerns the last thirty years of Eighty, a period of big effort for Italian Government in the acquisition of works of art and lands for excavations and museum’s organization. The third section, The progress of Nineties, is dedicated to guardianship laws of first nineties and to the efforts of Italian Government to underline the important role of public interest, exerting the right of pre-emption (nowadays known as bound of guardianship). War and Fascist Propaganda is the title of fourth section showing those works of art representing some typical features of that epoch such as propagandistic exhibitions. This section shows the terrible consequences of the Second World War.  The Evolution of Guardianship principles focuses on reconstruction years and Eighteens. In this decades we can notice the recover of several works of art and the introduction of new principles such as the huge  value of cultural goods. The last section titled Guardianship today, is future oriented. The new millennium is characterized by cooperation and collaboration agreements among Italian and foreign institutions to oppose the illegal works of art’s market and to offer the possibility of long-term loans
among museums of different countries.

The exhibition will be realized at Coliseum until February 15th 2009
