Ciao America! The years that changed the language of cinema in exposition at the Palace of the Exhibition
The 1960s and ’70s in America were a spectacular and highly disruptive era in the history of the renewal of the cinema, thanks to the courage of independent and underground rebel geniuses who produced their masterworks in open contrast with the official culture and overweening power of the Hollywood majors, pushing their own bitter and brutal vision of the complexities of contemporary society. Children of an era of major ferment and protest, these astonishing directors moved in harmony with the most important developments in American art in search of a personal style free from hackneyed narrative patterns, often resorting to the technique of “scripts in progress” during filming in an effort to capture the unique experience of unscripted emotion. Their cinema sank its roots deep in the urban “subsoil”, embracing with open arms young people’s self-destructive flight from civilized society through sex, drugs and violence. This journey back in time to the American cinema of the era paints a shocking portrait of modern man as, disoriented, indifferent and devoid of certainties, he chooses aimless flight in an attempt to lose himself once and for all.

For the first time a unprecedented comparison between two great masters of the Italian Renaissance, through the exhibition of sixty-six drawings.
A scientific exhibition of high level, which will start from the graphs of the two masterpieces and collections, and after will look at the work of the two artists, while deepening personal passions and interests of the masters, like Michelangelo practice site and the optical design for Leonardo.
Nine masterpieces of Leonardo will document the activities in the field of mechanical inventions, and art of military architecture, hydraulics, the study of geometry, the flight of birds and mechanic flight, offering an overview of examples of his research.

Aleksandr Rodchenko was undoubtedly one of the main generators of this creative and intellectual season, reflecting the spirit and the mythical aura.
Design, theater, painting, film, graphics and photography are subject areas in which the exceptional talent of this fascinating figure artist was confronted, opening up new creative paths for the subsequent development of each of them.
It was in 1924 that Rodchenko concentrated its main focus on photography, with the result of producing a vigorous change.
From a simple mean of recording reality, photography became a medium for dynamic representation of intellectual constructs, introducing principles of constructivist ideology.
In this exhibition we can see the “Method Rodchenko,” which included the use of diagonal compositions, progressive blurs, turned with time into a repertoire of “rhetorical devices” available to those artists who, by adopting the language of constructivism, believed in the possibility of a better transformation of the world’s civilization.

An international exhibition on the spiritual journey of the Homo sapiens up to the genesis of humanity
About two hundred thousand years ago, “Homo sapiens” began a journey from a small valley of the actual Ethiopia, to colonize the entire planet and to live with other human species.
The result was the great variety of peoples and cultures that we know today.
For the first time an international group of scientists from different disciplines: linguists, geneticists, paleontologists and anthropologists, has decided to reconstruct the roots and routes of human settlement. The combination of their research has created a magnificent international exhibition, which in six multimedial and interactive sections, describes histories and adventures of the great emigrations, still largely unknown, who designed the mosaic of human diversity.
