Americans aim an house in Italy
Posted By Gate-Away
Americans prefer Italy. They would like to live here and would like to have a house here.
This is the result emerged from the analysis given by Gate-Away.com: the U.S. is in first place between countries that have sent multiple requests for the purchase of a house in Italy in the second quarter of this year, preceding the English and Dutch.
There is a + 98.91 % of the number of contacts in the second quarter of 2010 over the same period of 2009, while we find a + 31.18% in the second quarter of 2010, if compared to the previous quarter of this year.
Gate-Away’s report shows that the attraction is still strong for Tuscany, which ranks first in the favours of the U.S. (almost 26%).
Recently, also US President Barack Obama has expressed its preference for this region, in particular the area around Florence. It’s confirmed the constant admiration for this territory, coming from everywhere.
Liguria is in second place, with 12.50% of requests. Probably overseas have appreciated the beauty of its landscapes and fallen in love with important places like Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure.
Also appreciated are Umbria and Abruzzo, the latter grabbed the headlines after the earthquake of 2009 and the G8.
High interest for Le Marche, and the spot with Dustin Hoffman and the appreciation of the AARP magazine, who named this region ” the new Florida”, could enhance a strong raise for its real estate market.
Going into the details of this report, it turns out that the Americans much prefer a house rather than a flat ( 59% against 28% ). Strong preference for a renovated property (63%) rather than a house to renovate, while is completely snubbed the presence of a pool: choice probably due to the passion for our beautiful seas: it’s perfectly understandable.
The problems for the Americans are just in the U.S, with the effects of the 2008’s crisis and the collapse of home sales in the United States. Last July there was a fall in sales of new houses by 27% over the previous month, to the lowest point since 1995, while analysts had forecast a decline of 13%.
So American buyers seem to trust more of italian real estate market, rather than domestic one. Maybe they would like to own a piece of this great country, which welcome those who appreciate its beauty.
