Eurotech introduces Aurora Au-5600, the next-generation Green supercomputer that unleashes the performance of the brand new Intel® Xeon® 5600 series

Amaro (Italy), March 17th, 2010 – Eurotech today launched Aurora Au-5600, the next-generation supercomputer for Green Petascale computing.

This announcement follows Intel’s introduction of Intel Xeon 5600 series processor and makes Eurotech one of the first market leaders to release an HPC platform based on it. This achievement is the last success in a series of joint launches made available by a strong collaboration between the two companies.

Based on the latest Intel 32 nm processors processor and relying on the cutting-edge, liquid cooled Aurora design, the new Aurora Au-5600 brings the efficiency and power of the 32nm architecture to the HPC domain.

Based in Los Angeles, the international features agency, Incredible Features has chosen MomaPIX as its web management and sales platform.

Rome, 8 march 2010 - In the early days of August 2009, Stacy Linh, Incredible Features’ Creative Director, found a message in her mailbox entitled “MomaPIX - the service tailored for photo and video agencies”.
Mistaking it for spam which escaped the control of the corporate firewall, Stacy was about to delete it when her curiosity was aroused by the title. She opened the message and began to investigate. From that day on, the relationship between Stacy and MomaSoft has been uninterrupted.

After the first email, asking for clarification, MomaSoft immediately sent an invitation to a web meeting for a presentation of the service.
Stacy said, “In September we spent a week in which we met on the internet every day, sometimes the meetings lasted for hours sometimes it took a few minutes. I realized that I was dealing with people technically valid and seriously involved in seeking appropriate solutions to my needs.”

The DuraNAS 1000 provides reliable high capacity Network Attached Storage (NAS) to IP-based systems installed on rolling stocks as well as in all applications where a rugged device designed for harsh environment is required.

The DuraNAS 1000 is ideally suited to complement the DuraCOR-NVR video recording system by providing expandable and removable mass storage for compressed video data.

The DuraNAS 1000 is a network device which can be accessed from anywhere the network is accessible, even from remote locations.

An Ethernet interface to mass storage is a reliable interconnection technology in harsh environment applications where EMC and immunity to electromagnetic interference are key requirements. Long cables are supported and the inherent insulation of Ethernet increases the operational reliability of the DuraNAS 1000 compared to other technologies such as USB2.0.

A high-performance NAS controller chip is used to bridge two 2.5” form factor SATA HDDs to a 10/100Mbit Ethernet interface.

Extensive measures have been taken to ensure reliable operation under all conditions and compatibility with internationally respected standards. The sealed Ethernet I/O connector, a Power Over Ethernet (POE) power supply and a compact rugged mechanical enclosure increase field reliability.

The Eurotech NAS system is intended to be used together with an external DuraCOR NVR and provides storage for up to 30 days of compressed video. Two DuraNAS 1000 can be joined for redundancy or capacity expansion.
