Rome Christmas - Hotel Traiano

Rome Christmas City…culture, amusement and sociality under a unique institutional event to underline the meaning of Christmas for Rome.

Trajan Hotel is happy to remind the event Rome Christmas City: it is a project realized by the Rome Commune together with the Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the roman Vicariate and with the Minister for Cultural Goods and the contribution of important Banks such as BNL, Paribas BNP Group, Unicredit and Monte dei Paschi di Siena.

For the first time Rome, from the 8th December to the 6th January is going to offer culture, amusement and sociality in a deep and authentic context….Christmas.

Every part of the city will be pervaded by events and decorated with several Christmas threes and decorations.

The Commune is coming to you (promoted by the Rome Commune with the supervision of important State and Catholic institutions) will offer special bus (from the 15th December) passing through the commune area and collecting several toys, dresses, and other things for churches, families and poor people and assistance associations.

Artists, jugglers and Christmas chorus will fill Rome streets for shopping and buying Christmas gifts until the 26th December; people will receive a coupon to obtain reductions on Museum and Exhibition ticket prices ant to make the event reasonable. Thanks to Rome Pass, you’ll be able to obtain (with 20 euro only) the free entrance for the first two museums and archaeological places, the free use of means of transport, reduced prices for next museums and archaeological places, theatre, dance and other tourist events.

The famous spanish soprano Montserrat Caballé, together with the Aramus Chorus and the Rome Filarmonica Orchestra, will be the protagonist from the 22nd December to the Happy Christmas from… Rome event at Santa Maria Madre del Redentore Church (Tor Bella Monaca). For the New year’s day night will be possible to participate to the Baustelle and Gianna Nannini concert at Coliseum; simultaneously there will be the live performance of Radici nel Cemento and Giuliano Palma & The Bluebeeters.

From the 8th to the 5th January the event Toccata e fuga comes back; it represents a wandering kermes dedicated to theatre, music and dancing promoted by the Rome Tourist Councillorship in collaboration with the Opera Theatre.
The exhibition of the 100 cribs will be prepared the 24th December at the Bramante Room, with more than 200 works of arts, while the 6th January, from Esquiline to Victor Square, will be performed the fifth edition of the living Crib.

Rome Diocese, from the 7th December to 6th January, has created a conceptual and religious route where holy music will be accompanied by contemporary art. Natalis in Urbe, the experssion of infinity among music, art and word.

At Sapienza University you can find three musical event: the 9th, 13th and 16th December you can admire to the Symphonic Orchestra of Mosca Radio, Kun Woo Paik (piano) and Harlem Gospel Choir.

The night of the 24th December at Trinità dei Monti will be performed the Earnest Pugh & the Assembly concert, while the 29 and 30 December Ennio Morricone will be present at the Auditorium. The auditorium will give hospitality to many important musical events: the Music Park of jazz Orchestra in concert the 23rd December with Irene Grandi and the 27th December with Dee Dee Bridgewater; Noa the 7th December, Diane Reeves the 9th December, Sergio Cammariere and Fabrizio Bosso the 3rd January.

Even Literarature will be present at the event: the 24th December, shortly before midnight, simultaneously in several churches (Santa Maria in Trastevere, Sant’Agostino in Campo Marzio e Santa Maria sopra Minerva) some famous actors belonging to the Silvio D’Amico Academy will accompany the entrance of faithfull reading the Laude of Nativity chosen by Andrea Camilleri.

Great amusement for children thanks to several appointments: from Bioparco, to Argentina Teathre and Borghese Villa.
